Types of EPR
1. Battery Waste: Battery waste management under EPR makes sure that producers are responsible for the safe disposal and recycling of batteries once they have reached the end of their life.
2. Plastic Waste: Under the Plastic Waste Management Rules of 2016, updated by the Plastic Management Rules of 2022, producers, importers, and brand owners are required to manage their plastic packaging waste. This process includes reusing and recycling, or ensuring the proper disposal of plastic waste, for all the packaging materials used by supermarkets, retail chains, and online stores.
3. E-Waste: E-Waste (electronic waste) management rules ensure that manufacturers, producers, and recyclers shall be responsible for the safe disposal and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
4. Tyre Waste: EPR is applicable for tire waste and requires producers to manage and recycle waste tires according to the new EPR policy. EPR registration is mandatory for producers to ensure that waste tires are properly recycled handled, or reused. This promotes a circular economy and sustainable waste management.
EPR Annual Compliance
