APEDA aims to promote scheduled product export. All exports related to exporting Scheduled products are required to obtain APEDA Registration. According to section 12 subsection 1 of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act, 1985 as amended every person exporting any one or more of the Scheduled products shall before the expiration of one month from the date on which he undertakes such export, apply to Authority to be registered as an exporter of the Scheduled product or Scheduled products. The said section further provides that the Authority may, for sufficient reason, extend the time limit for registration by such period as it thinks fit.

With the object of simplification of procedures and ease of doing business, w.e.f. 01.08.2015, the issuance of RCMC has been made online using digital signatures. Under the new process, the exporters are required to submit the documents online. Registration is valid for 5 years.

The following scheduled products are the prescribed export promotion and development and the export of such products shall be registered with the APEDA:

  • Meat and Meat Products
  • Fruits, Vegetables and their Products.
  • Poultry and Poultry Products.
  • Dairy Products.
  • Cocoa and its products, chocolates of all kinds
  • Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages
  • Confectionery, Biscuits and Bakery Products
  • Honey, Jaggery and Sugar Products.
  • Cereal and Cereal Products.
  • Pick.
  • Floriculture and Floriculture Products.
  • Groundnuts, Peanuts and Walnuts
  • Herbal and Medicinal Plants.

Documents and Information Required for APEDA Registration:

1. A bank certificate is required in a specified format

2. List of Directors/partners as applicable

3. A cancelled cheque from the business bank account

4. The period for which you need an APEDA License

5. Mobile Number, Email ID

6. Description of the products being exported

7. The period for which you need an APEDA License

8. Business Constitution document / Proof of Business

9. Self-attested copy of the Import-Export Code issued by D.G.F.T

10. Address proof for Registered Address

11. Mobile Number, Email ID

12. Self-attested copy of PAN issued by the Income Tax Department
